Incorporated in 1886 with a population of 250, the City of Pullman currently has 24,675 residents (as of the 2000 Census). Pullman is home to Washington State University, the state’s largest land-grant university.
Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc. was founded in Pullman in 1982 and introduced the world’s first digital relay in 1984, revolutionizing the power protection industry by offering fault locating and other features for a fraction of the cost of earlier systems.
