BER Fault Indicators are powered by line energy and provide two distinctive displays. The BER has a red, reflective display target (largest display surface in the industry) and a superbright red LED. A high-capacity, long-life, replaceable lithium battery provides 1200 flash hours to operate the LED display. To maximize battery life, the target display uses no battery energy.
Using smart Daylight Restraint® technology, the BER automatically conserves battery life by flashing the LED only during periods of low ambient light. The BER will reset the target and clear a flashing LED upon restoration of normal line power conditions that meet the L-L minimum requirement.
Apply BERs to overhead conductors from 8660 V to 69 kV L-L system voltage. An alternate snap-action clamp style allows application in live-front switchgears. Trip values are factory-set to your specification. BERs are quick and easy to install using a single hot stick.
