Secondary Reset (SR) Fault Indicators are installed in transformers where secondary voltage is available. SRs are line powered. To operate correctly, the SR's spring clamp must be in contact with a grounded cable shield or semicon, and the low voltage lead must be connected to the secondary.
Upon occurrence of a fault, the display shows a reflective red target which remains until the secondary voltage is restored, and meets the SR's minimum voltage requirement, at which time the SR will automatically reset and the display will show a reflective white target.
The SR's circuitry is epoxy-encapsulated within a UV-stabilized polycarbonate housing. Additionally, the hermetically-sealed display and stainless-steel spring clamp make SRs suitable for harsh underground environments. SRs provide reliable, economical fault location in areas where secondary low voltage is the only source of available energy.
Line-powered arm and reset eliminate the need for a battery.
The secondary voltage supplies the necessary arm and reset requirements in applications where there is insufficient load current to use a SR product.
Available for single- and three-phase applications.
Choose from BEACON® LED, target, and combination displays, depending on your application and operating practices.
Reset restraint option prevents undesired reset from backfeed voltage. Please consult SEL.
