Timed Reset (TR) Fault Indicators are typically installed in transformers or on overhead conductors near unfused taps or riser poles. An optional snap-action clamp is available that allows use on livefront switchgear. TR Fault Indicators are powered by a long-life, ultra-high capacity lithium battery and are ready to respond to a fault immediately upon installation. TRs are true timed reset fault indicators, making them immune to false reset due to system backfeed.
TRs are available in single- and three-phase versions with integral or remote displays. The display is available as a mechanical target, a flashing LED, or a combination of target and LED. Whichever display is chosen, the TR will respond to a fault, and the display will remain in the faulted condition until the preselected time period has elapsed or the unit is manually cleared.
The TR's circuitry is epoxy-encapsulated and housed within a UV-stabilized polycarbonate housing. The clamping mechanism is stainless steel and the dipalys are hermetically sealed. This rugged construction makes TRs well-suited to harsh outdoor or underground environments.
