The SEL-487E PMU Archive Converter provides an easy to use graphical interface solution for decoding archived synchrophasor data obtained from an SEL-487E relay. The Archive Converter opens a file transferred onto the PC from a 487E and converts it into a CSV (Comma Separated Value) file for use in a spreadsheet application.
System Requirements:
Microsoft Windows® Server 2003, Windows Server 2008, Windows Vista, or Windows XP
Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 or higher (Note: .NET 3.5 is NOT a system requirement for the Command Line version)
Step By Step Instructions (Graphical UI Version)
- Acquire a PMU Archive file for conversion using HyperTerminal or equivalent.
- Run the SEL-487E PMU Archive Converter application by double-clicking on it.
- Press the “...” button and select the PMU file to be converted from the open dialog box (See Figure 1).
- Double check the Station Name and ID Code to make sure that the correct file was selected. This information will appear just below the “CSV” button.
- Once the file has been selected a list of all channels listed in the archive file will appear with a checkbox next to each channel. Check the boxes next to each of the channels that should be in the converted file (See Figure 2.) Note that the “Select All” and “Deselect All” buttons can be used to make selecting channels easier.
- Once all of the desired channels have been selected, click the CSV button to create the CSV file. A message box will appear once the creation is complete.
You may now open the CSV file in a spreadsheet application such as Microsoft Excel (See Figure 3.)
