The SEL-2032 Communications Processor collects and provides synchrophasor data for desktop viewing. SEL offers a Microsoft® Excel® form that automatically communicates with the SEL-2032 over a serial cable to collect the synchrophasor data. The form collects a full set of phasor data from the SEL-2032 every two seconds and automatically populates Excel data fields. You can then write equations in Excel to process and compare phase angles.
Step-by-Step Connection Process
- Connect the SEL PMCU devices (e.g., an SEL-421 or SEL-311 Relay) to the SEL-2032 using a C273A serial cable.
- Connect the SEL-2032 to your PC using a C272A serial cable.
- Apply all of the settings listed below. Apply the PMCU settings to each device individually. Repeat the SEL-2032 port settings for each connected PMCU.
- Verify that the port settings for the SEL-2032 connection to the PC match the associated PC serial port settings. The Microsoft Excel macro below allows setting this information within the spreadsheet.
- Run the form by selecting ALT+F11and then the Run button to view the data.
