The SEL-2725 is an unmanaged five-port switch and copper-to-fiber-optic media converter. Apply to build reliable, safe Ethernet networks in electrical substations, plants, and other mission critical sites. Connect to devices in the same cabinet using shielded twisted-pair Category 5 cable, and communicate with the substation or plant LAN with a fiber-optic link.

    Convert Ethernet links to fiber-optic Ethernet links. Use fiber-optic Ethernet links outside of cabinets for increased safety and electrical noise immunity.

Single and Dual Fiber Option 
  • Connect the Ethernet ports of up to four devices in the same cabinet or panel to an SEL-2725, using Category 5 shielded, twisted-pair (STP) cable. Use the fiber-optic ports with fiber-optic cable to safely link the SEL-2725 to a station Ethernet switch router, or another SEL-2725.
  • Build reliable, safe Ethernet networks in electrical substations, generating plants, industrial plants, and other mission-critical sites.
  • Share inputs and outputs of  SEL-2411 Programmable Automation Controllers using IEC 61850 GOOSE messages.
