After SEL Compass has been installed, the first screen will be the SEL Compass Options screen. If you have already closed the Options screen you can return to it by running SEL Compass and choose TOOLS>OPTIONS from the top menu of startup screen.
Setup of the SEL Compass Options:
Update Source Location
SEL Website – This option is recommended for customers that have full access to the Internet to download specific file types needed for Compass updates. Select this option to obtain the latest SEL Compass information automatically. When selected, depending on your configuration, SEL Compass checks for updates to the SEL product line.
Other – This option is recommended for customers that are behind a Firewall that does not allow downloading of certain file types needed for Compass to check updates. Selecting this option allows you to point to the location where the full Compass folder was extracted to on your local PC and where updates to the SEL product lines may be available.
- For CD-ROM installs, this option should use the “D:\Compass\Packages” folder, where “D:” is the drive letter of you CD ROM Drive.
- If you have downloaded the Full Installation Package from the SEL Website you will need to extract the ZIP file to a local folder on your PC and then use the Other option and choose the “\Compass\Packages” folder from the extracted files.
