Event Report Analysis (Transformer Applications)
The technical paper “Lessons Learned Through
Commissioning and Analyzing Data From Transformer
Differential Installations” and associated event data will be
used for this hands-on event analysis class. Students will
analyze event data with their PCs and ACSELERATOR® Analytic
Assistant SEL-5601 and/or ACSELERATOR QuickSet™ SEL-5030
Software. |

Electronic Security Solutions
This class addresses the June 21, 2007, NERC Advisory, NERC
CIP standards, FERC recommendations, and the September
2007 CNN story on cyberattack vulnerability. We will provide
real solutions to electronic security concerns that you can
implement today. |

Settings for Advanced Transformer
Differential Applications
Differential element connections and settings will be developed
for two challenging case studies, a mobile transformer
(AG2007-02, Setting an SEL-587 or SEL-387 Differential Relay to
Protect a Mobile DABY Transformer) and a transformer with 60° phase shift. Advanced protection concepts will be explained
(through-fault monitoring, thermal modeling, restricted earth
fault protection, and new features of the
SEL-487E Relay). |

New User Relay Training
Engineers and technicians new to using SEL relays will benefit
from this hands-on class. Students will convert control schematics
and settings for an electromechanical relay installation
into SEL settings and SELOGIC® control equations, create and
download an ACSELERATOR settings file to an SEL-551C Relay,
create a commissioning checklist, and test the application.
(Space is limited to 12 students.) |
