SEL-251

Phase and Ground Overcurrent Relay

SEL-251

Key Features

  • Phase, Ground, and Negative-Sequence Overcurrent Protection
Negative-sequence elements provides faster, more sensitive protection for phase-to-phase and phase-to-phase-to-ground faults.
  • Multiple-Shot Reclosing with Sequence Coordination
Allows recloser to "step," maintaining sequence with other reclosers on the same line.
  • Voltage Elements
Monitor line conditions to enhance protection.
Provide input for fault location and supervision of three-phase fault decisions.
  • SELOGIC® Control Equations
Create control schemes in the relay.
    Program inputs and output contacts.
  • Compact, Field-Proven Hardware
-40° to +70°C temperature range allows outdoor enclosure installation in most areas. Mounts semi-flush or projection in 19" rack.

Options

Available with dual residual overcurrent elements (second residual replaces negative-sequence element) and binary Fast Meter information (SEL-251-1).
Fast Meter and Fast Operate can be optionally added (SEL-251-3).

Applications

Use the SEL-251 Relay in new or retrofit applications to complete distribution substation integration and automation projects.

Use SEL-5010 Relay Assistant Software to manage your relay settings.

Use SEL-5040 Power System Report Manager Software to automatically gather relay event reports on your PC and manage them with a database.

Use SEL-5601 Analytic Assistant Software to display oscillograms and vector diagrams to analyze event reports.
