and control grounded-wye shunt capacitor banks. Sensitive
differential protection detects individual blown fuses,
even in large banks. Protection is independent of system
operation conditions, e.g., unbalanced and external faults.

switched capacitor banks and reactors with control voltage
settings. Include a two-step control scheme for adaptive
switching.
- Detect
undervoltage and prevent system collapse due to voltage
instability with three-phase undervoltage load-shedding
schemes. Use a latching bit to provide a remote SCADA
or local alarm when scheme operates, and/or to restore
load automatically when conditions return to normal.
