The SEL-2884 has been replaced with the newer SEL-2886 EIA-232 to EIA-485 Interface Converter. The SEL-2886 directly replaces the SEL-2884, and provides additional capabilities, including automatic operation over a broad range of data rates, control-switch-selectable choices for controlling the transmitter, and a choice to provide power through a separate jack.
