Expandable I/O: Add programmable, interlocking monitoring and control with the I/O Expansion card.
Voltage Inputs: Use voltage, power, and power factor protection and measurement with the optional Voltage Inputs card.
Communications options include the Communications Card with an EIA-485 port, an additional EIA-232 port, and Modbus^® RTU protocol; or a DeviceNet™ interface card.

Protect medium- and low-voltage induction and synchronous motors regardless of horsepower rating.
Provide simple, effective protection. Enter the motor nameplate ratings for Full Load Current, Locked Rotor Current, Hot Stall Limit (Locked Rotor) Time, and Motor Service Factor. Alternately, select the appropriate thermal overload limit curve from 45 standard curves. Apply the integrated thermal protection model to retain motor thermal characteristics through transitional operating states (starting, running, stopped). Use comprehensive reporting to confirm motor sizing, understand events, schedule maintenance, detect unfavorable starting trends, and satisfy information requirements of supervisory systems.Use the IRIG-B time code input and Fast SER reporting for system-wide, time-synchronized event tracking to pinpoint and troubleshoot process disturbances. Select from external RTD modules (SEL-2600A or SEL-2600D) to eliminate expensive wire pulls and reduce wiring terminations at the relay by as much as 40%, while acquiring noise-free RTD signals and an additional contact input. Use RTD temperature data to bias the thermal overload protection for motors operating in greater than 40°C ambient conditions. Apply the SEL-749M Relay in unfavorable environmental conditions. Tested from -40° to +85°C and with as much as 95% relative humidity (noncondensing).
