"When Coweta-Fayette EMC elected to implement an Automatic Network Reconfiguration (ANR) scheme, our primary goal was to improve customer service and reliability to as many customers as possible and reduce our overall SAIDI. The impact of this ANR scheme with SEL recloser controls became clearly evident as a tornado toppled two 230 kV structures, knocking out power to two distribution substations. The ANR scheme operated as expected and quickly restored power to 600 customers."
